Pochettino became Chelsea manager in the summer of 2023 after Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital got rid of Graham Potter. The Blues' ownership immediately broke the bank for their new manager with the signings of names like Nicolas Jackson, Romeo Lavia, Christopher Nkunku and Caicedo, whose transfer sum broke Premier League records.

Despite the massive signings, Pochettino's Chelsea struggled and Caicedo was one of the biggest underperformers despite having shown loads of promise at Brighton. However, the Ecuadorian has now offered a very telling assessment of what exactly went wrong with his form at Stamford Bridge.
GettyWHAT CAICEDO SAID
Speaking to Radio La Red, Caicedo said [via Chelsea.News]: "At Brighton, it was all tactical, just with the ball; tactical, tactical, tactical. And at Chelsea, it was run, run, run and it was very difficult for me.
"With Chelsea, I always ran a bit more and with Brighton we almost always had the ball, with Chelsea it was a different football and we had to run more."
The Ecuadorian also spoke about how he decided to approach his poor form: "Since February my agent hired a person who reviews my matches and what I have to improve, how to position myself and mentally.
"It’s helped take pressure off me because I was thinking more about ‘they paid a lot of money for me I have to perform well'.
"I wasn’t focused, not showing my level, after my agent hired that person, I started to improve and gain more confidence."

Enzo Maresca was announced as the new Chelsea boss last month following Pochettino's departure, and Caicedo is hopeful that the appointment of the former Leicester City boss will be the turning point for the trajectory of his career.
